Controller
SoftCreatR Media, Sascha Greuel, Roßheidestr. 149, 45968 Gladbeck, Germany, is responsible for the processing described here. For privacy requests, contact info@softcreatr.dev.
Hosting and technical requests
The website, downloads and Quiblu API are hosted by ALL-INKL.COM – Neue Medien Münnich, Hauptstraße 68, 02742 Friedersdorf, Germany. Delivering a page or responding to a request involves technical connection data, including your IP address, the requested address, date and time, browser information and any referrer supplied by your browser. Website access logs are disabled. We do not keep a separate visitor log.
Translation and assistive technology
Online translation uses external assistive language-processing technology. Depending on the feature you use, your text and selected language settings may be sent to OpenAI Ireland Ltd. for processing. External processing is necessary for online translation. In the browser, text is sent only when you choose Translate or use its keyboard shortcut. In the desktop app, automatic translation also sends text after you pause typing, unless you enable manual-only translation.
The service processes the text you submit, language choices and information needed to return the result. Merely opening this website does not send entered text for translation. Desktop image recognition runs locally; only recognized text is submitted for translation, not the image pixels. Submit only information you are entitled to share, and avoid confidential or especially sensitive personal information.
Translation content and retention
The Quiblu server does not save translation history or write source text and translations to application logs. Browser text remains in the current page until you clear it, reload or leave the page. The desktop app also keeps temporary data in memory and saves history only if you enable it. We request no persistent storage of response objects from the external service. Its security and abuse-monitoring records may include submitted text and results for up to 30 days, with longer retention where legally required.
International processing
External processing may take place outside the EU or EEA, including in the United States. Where required, transfers rely on safeguards under the GDPR, including the European Commission’s Standard Contractual Clauses. You can request further information about recipients and applicable safeguards using the controller’s contact details.
Cookies and browser settings
Translation does not require a session cookie. Requests are protected using origin checks and non-cookie request headers. The localStorage entries quiblu.locale and quiblu.theme remember your chosen language and appearance until you change or delete them. Text and translations are not saved in localStorage. You can remove preferences through your browser’s website-data controls. An unused quiblu_web cookie from an older version is expired on the next web API request.
We use no advertising cookies, analytics services or visitor profiling. Fonts, graphics and scripts are delivered from this website. Following an external link connects you to the linked provider, whose own privacy information applies there.
Abuse prevention
To limit excessive requests and spending, the service keeps request counts, aggregate token usage and short-lived concurrency records. Address-based counters use a keyed hash of the IP address, not the raw address. These identifiers are pseudonymous, not anonymous. Expired minute counters and two-minute concurrency records are removed during subsequent requests; aggregate usage counters reset for the next day. These records contain no translation text.
Downloads and update checks
Downloading an installer or checking for updates makes a technical request to quiblu.de. Desktop update requests include the app version and requested package platform. We use no unique installation identifier for these requests. Automatic checks run at startup and hourly and can be disabled in Settings. Debian and Ubuntu package updates use your system’s package manager. Translation text is not included in update requests.
Local desktop data
Preferences are stored on your device. Optional history is off by default. If enabled, it includes source text, translations and translated images, protected for the signed-in Windows user or encrypted with a key in the local Linux account. Other software running as that user may still access it. Retention defaults to 30 days and can be set from 1 to 90 days; expired entries are removed when history is loaded or updated. You can delete entries, clear history or disable it to remove saved history and images. Voice features use available system speech components; Quiblu does not upload microphone audio to its translation service.
Contacting us
If you contact us, we process your contact details and message to respond and handle the matter. We keep correspondence for as long as needed to resolve it and meet any applicable record-keeping obligations or legal claims. Please do not send translation contents or screenshots containing personal information unless they are needed to explain your request.
Purposes and legal bases
Processing needed to provide a translation or another service you request is based on Article 6(1)(b) GDPR. Technical operation, security, abuse prevention and general correspondence are based on our legitimate interests under Article 6(1)(f) GDPR. Legally required retention is based on Article 6(1)(c). Local storage for language and appearance choices you expressly request serves those functions under Section 25(2)(2) TDDDG.
Your rights
Subject to the conditions in the GDPR, you may request access, correction, erasure, restriction of processing and data portability. You may object to processing based on legitimate interests on grounds relating to your situation. Contact the controller to exercise these rights. You may also lodge a complaint with a data-protection supervisory authority, including the authority for North Rhine-Westphalia (LDI NRW). Quiblu does not make decisions with legal or similarly significant effects about you or profile visitors.
